In the novel, The Color Purple, there are three main characters who demonstrate meaningful traits of women. Celie, the main character, is the most important of the three. She is influenced by other characters in the novel and is inspired to let herself seek their virtues. Celies two friends, Shug and Sofia, are both strong women who teach Celie how to achieve the happiness she desires. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;Sofia is a woman with authority in her life. Her life has been a constant struggle and can no longer endure conflict. She is strong physically and that gives her confidence in herself. The only opinion of any value to her is her own. One day, during a meal, Harpo warns Squeak not to laugh because it was bad luck for a woman to laugh. Sofia laughs in his face saying, I already had my bad luck. Is it global warming or climate change? According to the EPA, global warming refers to the recent and ongoing increase in the average global temperature (EPA). This increase is mostly caused by the amassed amounts of greenhouse gases or CO2 in the atmosphere. The CO2 or greenhouse gases get trapped within the atmosphere. Some CO2 in the atmosphere isn’t a bad thing; it allows for heat and sunlight to travel to Earth and helps keep Earth from going into a deep freeze period. But we can have too much CO2! If there is too much CO2 in the atmosphere, Earth heats up considerably over time, along with a plethora of other adverse effects. For many, a warmer temperature is welcome, but some do not realize the negative effects such warming will†¦show more content†¦Small changes in the average temperature of the planet can translate to large and potentially dangerous shifts in climate and weather. The Earth goes through periods of natural cycles of warming and lowering average temperatures. Ice Ages have happened as a result of these natural temperature fluctuations. Before the Industrial Revolution, the climate of Earth was unaffected by human activity. During that time, any global warming was mostly due to variations in sunlight and the solar energy that reaches Earth. Less sun equals less warmth! Volcanic eruptions also shot particles into the atmosphere, which also had a hand in increasing greenhouse gases and altering the climate of the planet. Although these natural causes are still relevant to global warming today, they are not enough to explain the rapid warming Earth has been experiencing over the last few decades or so. NASA and its scientists have the technology and the data to create climate models and simulations based on scientific data found in rocks, lava, soils, and other natural elements. These models also take into account human, as well as natural, activities by processing information gathered from satellites and monitoring instruments on Earth’s surface. All registered nurse must oversee the care delivered by other nurses while retaining the responsibility for the care quality given to the patients admitted to the health care setting. 2. All registered nurse must abide by the vision and the related goals and thereby implement the progress of health care consumer within the context of the health care setting (McGuire Ray, 2014). These industry standards would highly influence the development of the curriculum as these standards make up the actual needs of implementation of nursing leadership. By following the standards and incorporating them in the curriculum would be highly beneficial as the nurses would be able to demonstrate a strong commitment for continuos and life-long education for self as well as others. Nurses would also be able to mentor colleagues for nursing practice advancement and quality care. Communication skills would be developed and conflict resolution skills would be more. Participating in professional decisions in the organisation and providing advices to the fellow nurses would be skills that would be developed. Participation in influencing health care policy would be an added advantage that would benefit both the health care system and the healthcare consumers. The health care industry standards would thereby pave the path for more efficient nurses after they receive effective educatio n on nursing leadership.
